Upcoming Events

Hello to everyone,

we are bringing you some information about upcoming events in the near future. Let start with Ski Swap this Saturday. This event is organized by Windermere Valley Ski Club at the Invermere Community Hall. The drop off for your gear starts at 9am and the sales open at noon till 3pm. Even though the majority of the stuff is downhill skis and snowboards there are still some nordic gear as well. This a great opportunity for you to trade you older skis or the buy second set of skate skis. We will have our crew there to help you out to make a decision as well as to sell you TCNSC Annual Membership still for the Early Bird price. TCNSC membership gives you unlimited skiing at Whiteway and Lake Lillian trails, FREE nordic ski clinic at Nipika Mountain resort and discount on their Season Trail Pass, number of discounts at local business (Crazy Soles etc). We are also going to draw a one lucky winner who will receive a FREE TCNSC TOQUE. All you need to do is to sing up for your membership and put your name into a draw hat (different then the hat you could win).

COACHING COURSES. Are you interested in learning how to coach cross country skiing to kids? We are hosting the first two levels of the National Coaching Certification Program. The Introduction the Community Coaching (10 hours) will run Nov. 2 & 3 and is targeted toward coaches of kids 6 and under. The Community Coaching course (16 hours) will run Dec. 6-8, including components on snow and is for people coaching kids 6 to 9 years old. ICC is a prerequisite to taking CC. OFFICIALS COURSE. We are hosting a level 1 officials course (8 hours). It is aimed at people assisting with ski competitions. This is scheduled for either October 20th or November 16th (exact date is still TBD). contact Cam Gillies  if you are interested in participating.
